There's an undeniable metaphysical essence to the mountains, where nature envelops you in its embrace, transporting you from the mundane to the sublime. Conceptually, I sought to capture this transformative experience, crafting a space that transcends everyday realities. It began with envisioning myself in the space, imagining what it would feel like to be suspended above the ground, floating amidst the trees. As I grappled with the pragmatic constraints of gravity, I pondered how to convey this sensation of ascent while maintaining structural integrity.
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding forest, with its paths and towering trees, I envisioned a journey of meandering and exploration. This deliberate disorientation serves to heighten the user's focus on the experience itself, amplifying the sense of ascent. Spiraling geometry emerged as a means to achieve this objective, guiding visitors on a captivating journey upward while offering glimpses of breathtaking views along the way.
In envisioning the structure, I visualized the trees themselves as the support, their tall, slender proportions seamlessly blending with the architectural elements. This integration allows the structure to harmonize with its natural surroundings, disappearing into the forest canopy while providing a sense of stability and security. Through this innovative approach, the design becomes not just a physical space, but a transcendent experience—an ascent into the ethereal realms of nature's embrace.
